Dance Well is an artistic dance practice primarily—but not exclusively—addressed to people living with Parkinson’s, which takes place in museums, gardens, galleries, theatres, and other places of beauty. It was conceived and promoted by the Municipality of Bassano del Grappa through Operaestate Festival and CSC Casa della Danza. The practice consists of dance classes, offered free of charge to different local communities (family members of people living with Parkinson’s, members of the over-60 community, citizens, students, and dancers). Over time, the practice has proven to be a tool for inclusion, cultural participation, and the promotion of well-being. Over the years, it has developed into a national network composed of cultural institutions, museums, festivals, theatres, heritage organisations, educational bodies, and socio-health organisations that collaborate to ensure the continuity, quality, and development of the practice across different territories.
The work pathway activated by Mooncult in 2025 within iNEST was addressed to cultural, museum, and socio-health professionals belonging to the national network, with the aim of accompanying the partner community through a significant phase of transition, initiated following the redefinition of internal roles and organisational structures.
The process aimed to:
- define a new shared vision for the network;
- foster the emergence of needs, resources, and perspectives from the different territories;
- build shared tools (Code of Ethics, commissions, mappings);
- prepare a balanced, transparent, and participatory governance model.
Through in-person meetings and online sessions, the pathway fostered a collective process of analysis, listening, co-design, and formalisation, systematically involving all the actors that make up the network.
